Aspen and Snowmass are so often clumped together in sentences and titles, few outside Colorado realize Snowmass Village is a separate entity altogether. Originally part of the mining boon, it graduated later into a ranching community, and now serves as a resort town in the shadow of the largest of the 4 mountains nearby; Buttermilk, Snowmass, Aspen Mountain and Aspen Highlands. Winter or summer, there’s always adventures to be had. Epic skiing and snowboarding, what Snowmass is most known for, is not all this little village has to offer. Summer brings world-class fly fishing, white water rafting and kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, biking and Scenic Byways all in the shadow of a staggeringly beautiful mountain.
And they say the hills have no more riches to give up.
