The Autumn Color Run is held in Buena Vista each year on the 3rd Saturday in September. The ACR features one of the most beautiful and popular Half Marathon routes in Colorado. The Half Marathon begins above Cottonwood Lake and runs along forest service and county roads while dropping more than 1,700 feet in elevation en-route back to town. Additional events include a 10K, 5k, and 1 Mile Fun Run. All races end in McPhelemy Park (BV’s town pond park) at a spectacular finish line celebration which includes live music and one of the best post-race food buffets around. Proceeds are donated to StarPoint, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chaffee County, and local Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops.
